Since i installed the dimming parts and begun to use it i have had problems with the conductivity measurement, there has been a huge dip at lightning on and off.
After some investigation I have now found the problem, it’s the same problem i have had before when i tried to measure the pH with a regular computer, stray voltages.
I should have thought of that at once.
I found this problem by taking water from the aquarium into a plastic mug and placing the probe into that instead, then the problem disappeared, as did it do when i placed the probe and one hand in the aquarium and the other hand on the ground connection of a power outlet.
I found a pretty informative page on the subject which could be quite interesting to read:
As my new hobby is to make time lapse movies here is another one.
What amazes me in this one is the total synchronization of the plants behavior.
I will also recommend the program I’m using, a very nice program if you are an owner of one of the supported Canon cameras, the also have a lot of interesting / fun time lapse movies on their site:
After trying to allow trackback again and receiving a bunch of spam trackbacks i decided to shut the function off again.
I also added a captcha check to the comment function to prevent it from being miss used as well, I hope this will not be an obstacle for those who actually use it.
Edit: I will try some filtering of the trackbacks, hopefully that will be enough.
The past weekend it was time for medieval days in Lund, as i have a son in the right age it was a given place to go.
It was a very nice arrangement, and there were quit a lot of people.
I’m not to fond of all the stuff the tend to sell, but of cause my son wanted some armor stuff.
According to me the best part is the knights tournament, we found a place close to the bad guys corner and got two favorites almost instantly, Knight Blixten (Flash) and Knight KorphjÀrta (Ravensheart), they were full of presence, feeling and a lot of entertaining go.
I think it looked really nice at the evening but at the morning it seemed a bit hasty.
The reason for this was because of other function than i thought, the dimming was on the other side of the time setting.
I have now changed it to be the same extra minimum light period at the morning as the evening.
12:00 all four bulbs light up at minimum.
12:30-13:00 Two bulbs dims to max.
13:00-13:30 the other two dims from min to max.
20:30-21:00 two bulbs dims from max to min.
21:00-21:30 the other two max to min.
22:00 all bulbs is shut of.
I finally got the time to make a new time lapse movie of a day in the aquarium with dimmable ballasts, one hour up and one hour down at each end of the day.
