I have a feeling that some of my growth problems are getting better (knock on wood), this is what i have done:
1 More stabile fertilizing regime (probably not the main problem but clearly some help).
2 Added Mg and Ca to the fertilizing regime (This seems to have a lot to do with the problem solving).
3 More lightning hours (no idea of what impact this have had).
4 Better circulation of the water (I made a new outlet pipe with smaller holes which made the water flow increase, this seem to have made quite a difference)
I found this site at buzz, nice pictures and a short description of how he does it and what equipment he is using (with some imagination you don’t need to much to do it).
I hope this page now will look ok in IE, I have checked it and it seems to work for me.
Please write a comment if you find any problems.
I made some updates on the server and some parts for the site recently, this made the site look even worse for IE users.
Everything seems to be working in Firefox but with IE all the navigation choices which previously was on the left side is placed at the bottom.
I guess i will have to fix this now…….
Yesterday when i was checking how much nutrition solution was left in the bottles i found out it was empty, so i had to make a new one.
This time i tried to get some Mg and Ca in and rise the K level, guess if that became a problem, a bit to muck nutrition to solve in that amount of water.
This is the target values per day:
Fe 0.22ppm
K 13ppm
Mg 0.9ppm
NO3 5.6ppm
PO4 0.42ppm
Ca 7.6ppm
The uneven amounts is due to the fact that i had to add some more water to be able to solve al the nutrition.
I have been a bit careful with the lightning time, it has only been on for 6 hours (7 the last week), i guess this is a bit low.
I read on APC something about that the plants need some time to get going, my short time might have been to short for this.
My old problems / thoughts about Mg and Ca might be in place as well, this week i have added a little Mg and Ca to see if this helps (1.8ppm Mg and 8ppm Ca), Might still be a bit to little but I’m a bit careful with the Mg dosing.
The picture of my Nesaea crassicaulis might be the evidence that i have a Mg Ca problem.
Something more fun, for the first time my Lotus is going to flower, i have been waiting for this since i bought it.
Well, this was not to good, the nutrition values where almost identical as the last time at the end of the week, despite the fact that i almost didn’t give the fishes any food:
pH 6.1
KH 1.88
GH 3.5
If you check this against the amount i add then it results in a zero uptake of nutrition, what do i do now?
I have found out that 45 min of dialysis gives zero values in the tank, good to remember.
